Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 + package
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a global and award-winning multidisciplinary M&E Consultancy. This opportunity is to join a team of 10, but have a growing team throughout their Birmingham office of 150 people. This is an opportunity to work alongside highly skilled engineers on a variety of projects, ranging from healthcare to commercial, and life sciences.

Role Responsibilities:
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be working on various types of projects in an array of sectors. The need to have sector knowledge is important.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience in the healthcare sector and will have around 4/5+ years of experience in the built environment.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be a team player, from helping juniors/graduates in their journey of growth, you will help peer review consultancies’ drawings and value engineer on drawings, focusing on the purely mechanical aspects.
- Ensuring the mechanical team is suitably resourced for planned objectives and all personnel is suitably equipped for the and that all aspects of engineering within the mechanical discipline have been carried to an acceptable standard.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be able to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations whilst maintaining and building new relationships for the company.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will need to think creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems whilst identifying risks in the workplace, site, and design work. Whilst also considering the design’s environmental, commercial, safety, and operational aspects.
Role Requirements:
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience in using recognised design software tools such as REVIT and Hevacomp.
- Have recognised qualifications in Mechanical services design and a Chartered Status or actively working towards one.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will need to understand project needs and be able to manage the full delivery.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team in support of delivery projects.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have 4/5+ years of experience in a building services background, with experience ranging in sectors.
- The Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience working on sustainable projects, understand net zero carbon/decarbonisation methods and have an interest in working towards a net zero carbon target on each project.
