We are working with a hugely respected 300m turnover M&E contractor, a successful division of one of the world’s biggest construction and infrastructure companies, which is looking for a Senior M&E Planner to work on a defence project in Cambridge.

THE COMPANY

The company has built some of London’s most recognisable commercial buildings and has a reputation for pushing a strong well-being and healthy living agenda for its staff and the industry. The company is a global construction service company which has been in the London market for many years and is looking to expand the M&E team. Project M&E values are generally above 10m and peak at circa 80m, with a mix of JCT works in London and NEC works on healthcare or defence projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to develop M&E project plans and schedules that align with overall project objectives and timelines.
  • Determine the necessary resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, required for M&E activities. Coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed WBS for M&E activities, breaking down the work into manageable tasks, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring that the WBS integrates with the overall project plan.
  • Identify the critical path for M&E activities, which is the sequence of tasks with the longest duration and determines the project’s overall timeline, and analyse dependencies and constraints to optimise the critical path.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers involved in M&E activities to ensure effective coordination, timely delivery of materials, and adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure that M&E activities comply with applicable codes, regulations, industry standards, and client requirements, while conducting quality inspections and coordinating with quality control teams to ensure high standards of workmanship.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • Previous experience as M&E Planner, with whole-lifecycle NEC project experience.
  • Track record in proficiently developing comprehensive critical paths.
  • UK or EU passport holder security-cleared is a plus.
