Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 + Package
London (2/3 days a week in office)
A fantastic opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer who has experience from 5 years onwards, to join a well-known and respected market-leading M&E Consultancy that specialises in Data Centre and Commercial projects throughout the UK and Europe.

Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for running medium/large-size projects.
- Undertakes a client-facing role in the development design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
- Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
- Overseeing both mechanical and electrical disciplines by reviewing drawings, approving designs and being a point of contact when it comes to the progress and success of the projects in progress
- Attend and run design team meetings and see what needs to be changed and improved etc in regards to design processes.
- Surveys tests and reports on existing Mechanical installations
- Specifies activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and client requirements
- Day-to-day decision-making on project progress and direct liaison with and providing advice to client
- Represents the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams and contractor teams.
- Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
- Responsible for technical content and accuracy of trainees, graduates and engineers
- Validation and checking of designs and specifications
Role Requirements
- BEng, MSc, and have sufficient experience
- Working towards Chartered Eng status
- Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
- Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, Revit, Hevacomp and AutoCAD
- Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software
- Good understanding of BS standards
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Background in consulting or construction preferred.
- Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
