We are working with a market-leading technical contractor specialising in Data Centres, Advanced Manufacturing, Food, Logistics and Pharmaceuticals. They deliver projects in the UK, Ireland, Mainland Europe, USA and Canada.

THE ROLE

The Electrical Contracts Manager will oversee all electrical aspects of large-scale data centre projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading a team of engineers and subcontractors, and coordinating with other project directors and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Electrical Contracts Manager will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support for complex electrical engineering problems. They will be expected to stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and to ensure the integration of new technologies and methods to improve efficiency.
  • The Electrical Contracts Manager will be responsible for stakeholder management including clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. They will attend project meetings and provide updates on project status, and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • The Electrical Contracts Manager will be in charge of project planning, execution, and compliance for a range of data centre projects.
  • The Electrical Contracts Manager will work alongside the financial team to prepare and manage project budgets, approve expenditures and ensure cost-efficiency in all project activities.
  • The Electrical Contracts Manager will identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, monitor risk factors and implement contingency plans as necessary, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • The Electrical Contracts Manager will lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, project managers, and support staff. This includes setting priorities and providing guidance to ensure team effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects (electrical values of at least £15-20M).
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to travel to different sites across the UK and Europe as needed.
