Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 + Car Allowance + Travel + 8% Pension + Private Healthcare + Bonus

We are representing one of the best M&E contractors in London. Turning over £250M per year, concentrating within the M25, however, have other projects in London, the Southeast and Europe. They have a long list of major buildings they have installed and are now a strong force in data centres.
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-known and respected market-leading contractor. With projects from Commercial, Data Centres, Retail and Pharmaceutical Laboratories etc, there is an opportunity to work on multi-million-pound projects.
Role Responsibilities:
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will be working on various types of projects in an array of sectors. The need to have sector knowledge is important.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be a team player, from helping juniors/graduates in their journey of growth, you will help peer review consultancies drawings and value engineer on drawings, focusing on the purely mechanical aspects.
– Providing design support to a team of Mechanical and Electrical design engineers, including hands-on support if needed. Overseeing all MEP aspects of projects assigned.
– Attending design team meetings and acting as a bridge between the MEP team and the client.
– Ensuring the collaboration between the Mechanical and Electrical teams is clear and both disciplines are working alongside each other cohesively.
– Understanding and implementing industry standards, regulations, and protocols.
– Keeping up with industry trends and technology to ensure effective and efficient completion of each project.
– Ensuring the mechanical team is suitably resourced for planned objectives and all personnel are suitably equipped for the and that all aspects of engineering within the mechanical (and electrical) discipline have been carried to an acceptable standard.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will need to have experience working on various projects from different stages from stages 3, 4 and 5.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be able to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations whilst maintaining and building new relationships for the company.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will need to think creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems whilst identifying risks in the workplace, site, and design work. Whilst also considering the design’s environmental, commercial, safety, and operational aspects.
Role Requirements:
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience in using recognised design software tools such as REVIT and ideally have exposure to Hevacomp.
– Have recognised qualifications in Mechanical services design and a Chartered Status or have an interest in working towards one.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will need to understand project needs and be able to manage the full delivery.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team in support of delivery projects.
– The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have 5+ years of experience in a building services background, with experience ranging in sectors.
