We are working with a market-leading engineering design consultancy specialising in the Built Environment, Data Centres, ICT and Sustainability. They are a global engineering and consulting company delivering integrated solutions for sustainable energy and built environment projects.

 

THE ROLE

They are looking for an Assistant Project Controller to join their Finance team in the Newcastle office to support project managers in tracking the financial performance of their projects, relaying key messages about its evolution, ongoing risks and opportunities. You will be based in the Newcastle Office with occasional travel to the London/Oxford offices.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Assistant Project Controller will assist with project related planning, forecasting & reporting, managing a subset of EMEA Data Centre projects.
  • The Assistant Project Controller will support the project controllers with the preparation of the Sector Dashboard.
  • The Assistant Project Controller will work in collaboration with the offshore project accounting team (based in the Philippines) to ensure project transactional finance activities including billing and purchasing cycles are up to date.
  • The Assistant Project Controller will prepare timesheet man loaders for time and material recharge projects.
  • The Assistant Project Controller will support EMEA Data Centre sector with transactional finance queries driving to resolve problems in a timely manner.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a professional accountancy certification or degree equivalent (ACCA, ACA).
  • Good understanding of basic project accounting.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
  • Experience using ERP software, ideally Sage or SAP.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel.
  • Experience dealing with key stakeholders and senior professionals within a business.
