THE COMPANY:

We are representing one of the leading M&E Sub-Contractors in London, both by standard of work and how they treat their staff. Turning over 250m per year, they concentrate within the M25, although they have other projects in London, the Southeast and Europe. They have a long list of major buildings they have installed and are now a force in the data centre sector.

A fantastic opportunity for an Estimating Director has arisen to join this well-known and respected market leading Sub-Contractor. Operating in sectors such as Commercial, Data Centres, Retail and Pharmaceutical Laboratories etc, there is opportunity to work on multi-million-pound projects which cover the full range of services and distribution systems required for a wide range of varied building solutions.

THE ROLE:

  • The Estimating Director should have vast knowledge and experience not only within the day-to-day responsibilities of estimating but also have the leadership qualities to lead the biggest estimating team in London. You would be reporting into the CEO and Board Directors.
  • The Estimating Director will need to be punctual, presentable, accountable, and likeable. These qualities are a necessary part of the role within the company as you will be the face of the estimating department.
  • The Estimating Director will need to have managed a team of estimating managers, estimators, document controllers etc.
  • The Estimating Director should ideally have good numerical skills and is a quick thinker. There will be documents which need to be read and analysed and it will be your responsibility to collate the information, identify any errors and correct them to present to the CEO for bidding etc.
  • The Estimating Director will be responsible for expanding the estimating team which entails being able to recruit.
  • The Estimating Director will need to be able to allocate tenders, coordinate with the Operations team, design team and organise the supply chain etc.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Estimating director will ideally have either a Mechanical or Electrical background.
  • The Estimating Director will have experience in collating information, liaising with clients, main contractors, board directors and various teams throughout the company.
  • The Estimating Director will ideally have had exposure to software packages such as Bluebeam, Fire and Trimble.
  • The Estimating Director should ideally have 10+ years of experience in the estimating field.
