Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for running medium/large-size projects.
- The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will undertakes a client-facing role in the development design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc..
- Attend and run design team meetings and see what needs to be changed and improved etc in regard to design processes.
- Day-to-day decision-making on project progress and direct liaison with and providing advice to client.
- The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will represent the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams and contractor teams.
- Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards.
- The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for technical content and accuracy of trainees, graduates and engineers.
- Validation and checking of designs and specifications.
REQUIREMENTS
- BEng, MSc, and have sufficient experience.
- Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
- Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, Revit, Hevacomp or IES.
- Good understanding of Building Services standards.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and to work to deadlines.
- Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
