A fantastic opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer who has experience from 5 years onwards, to join a well-known and respected market-leading M&E Consultancy that specialises in Data Centre projects throughout the UK and Europe.

ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for running medium/large-size projects.
  • The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will undertakes a client-facing role in the development design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc..
  • Attend and run design team meetings and see what needs to be changed and improved etc in regard to design processes.
  • Day-to-day decision-making on project progress and direct liaison with and providing advice to client.
  • The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will represent the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams and contractor teams.
  • Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards.
  • The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for technical content and accuracy of trainees, graduates and engineers.
  • Validation and checking of designs and specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BEng, MSc, and have sufficient experience.
  • Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, Revit, Hevacomp or IES.
  • Good understanding of Building Services standards.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and to work to deadlines.
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
