Lead Planner
We are working with a hugely respected Tier 1 contractor and Data Centre company operating across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. They are looking for a Lead Planner to join their team in Southern Europe.

- They provide full mechanical and electrical engineering contracting services as well as specialist high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) design and construction services across a range of sectors including data centres, life sciences, industrial, energy and commercial.

- They are a people and client focussed business. They have grown through staff retention and through repeat clients. Their reputation puts them in the top Tier for highly engineered projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Lead Planner will provide strategic input and guidance in developing planning strategies, methodologies, and best practices to optimise project efficiency and effectiveness.
- The Lead Planner must understand the critical path for M&E/Building Services, be able to assign trades to packages and work closely with Project Managers.
- The Lead Planner will take a lead role in managing planning activities for complex and large-scale Data Centre projects. Coordinating with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to ensure seamless integration of plans with the overall project.
- Allocating resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support planning activities. Optimising resource utilisation to meet project timelines and objectives.
- The Lead Planner will analyse project schedules and critical paths to identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvement. Developing strategies to mitigate schedule risks and manage project delays effectively.
- Appling value engineering principles to planning processes, seeking innovative solutions that optimise project outcomes while reducing costs and enhancing performance.
- The Lead Planner will ensure planning activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, standards, and specifications. Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies in planning.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
- Previous experience as an M&E Planner or General Build Planner with a strong M&E focus.
- Experience of leading the whole lifecycle of projects.
- Experience of working as a planner for a Data Centre project.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera (P6).
- Track record in proficiently developing comprehensive critical paths.
