We are representing a SME building services contractor, delivering both mechanical and electrical to a mix of Tier 1 and 2 main contractors.  They are quickly developing a reputation for delivery and their order book is growing.

THE COMPANY

We are representing a medium sized building services contractor who have grown through covid by delivering mechanical, electrical and public health installations for a mix of residential developers and main contractors. They quickly developed a reputation for reliable delivery, quality install and collaboration with clients which has allowed them to win bigger value projects. They have won a £19m M&E value private residential scheme as part of wider redevelopment in Southampton. The programme is for 2.5 years and the main contractor will have further work in London and South East when this has finished.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SENIOR M&E PROJECT MANAGER / SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • The Senior M&E Project Manager must have successfully managed a client relationship to a positive conclusion, finding solutions to problems rather than creating problems.
  • The Senior M&E Project Manager must be happy controlling the commercial aspects of a project (alongside a commercial manager)
  • The Senior M&E Project Manager can come from either a mechanical or electrical background, either trade or management qualification (ONC, OND, HNC, HND or degree/ C&G/ NVQ)
  • As a Senior M&E Project Manager you will control the whole project, reporting to a roving contracts manager. You will have completed an M&E scheme of at least £10m from start to handover successfully.
  • The Senior M&E Project Manager should be commercially aware – proactively support all commercial activities to ensure this reflects the requirements of the business
  • Client facing
  • The Senior M&E Project Manager will oversee and continuously monitor the programme while reporting on progress internally, to complete on time and within budget providing weekly reports
  • Your duties will also include delegating to the team and dealing with design and reviews, procurement, QA, risk and method statements, H&S compliance, and workflow reviews
