Due to an increase in project wins and in line with a pre-existing growth plan, we are looking for an Engineering Manager with a building services background to join the growing team of a respectable M&E subcontractor.

 

THE COMPANY

  • A well-established M&E subcontractor working mostly within the residential and commercial spheres.

  • The company is looking to grow their team and you will be able to play a role in building the engineering team.

 

THE ROLE

  • The Engineering Manager will lead and manage a team of engineers and technical professionals.
  • The Engineering Manager will provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team.
  • The Engineering Manager will be responsible for reviewing and if needed, delivering the MEP schematic designs and calculations. You will be in charge of managing RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5 specifically.
  • The Engineering Manager will ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • The Engineering Manager will implement and enforce quality control processes.
  • The Engineering Manager will communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, as well as providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  • The Engineering Manager will address technical issues and challenges that arise during the construction process, and collaborate with the project team to find practical and efficient solutions.
  • The Engineering Manager will monitor and control engineering costs within the allocated budget, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
  • The Engineering Manager will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes.
  • The Engineering Manager will address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with engineering deliverables.

 

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • Educated to degree level in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Have experience in hands-on design and have worked within a managerial position, leading all MEP aspects of design. Must have led RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Be detailed-oriented, risk-focused, and commercially aware.
  • Have experience in client-facing roles, such as Associate Director or Project Director.
