We are working with a hugely respected 300m turnover M&E contractor, a successful division of one of the world’s biggest construction and infrastructure companies looking for a Head of M&E Planning.

THE COMPANY

The company has built some of London’s most recognisable commercial buildings and has a reputation for pushing a strong well-being and healthy living agenda for its staff and the industry. It is a global construction service company which has been in the London market for many years and is looking to expand the M&E team. Project M&E values are generally above 10m and peak at circa 80m, with a mix of JCT works in London and NEC works on healthcare or defence projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the M&E planning efforts within construction project JVs, including developing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Develop strategic plans and objectives for the M&E planning department in alignment with the overall organisational goals and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that M&E systems and installations are accurately planned, coordinated, and integrated with the overall project design.
  • Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project timelines and objectives effectively.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to M&E planning and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact on project schedules, costs, and quality.
  • Ensure that M&E planning activities adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, such as clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure alignment throughout the planning process.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the M&E planning team. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encourage professional development, and promote knowledge sharing.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

  • Previous experience as Head of M&E Planning, Chief M&E Planner, Senior M&E Planner or similar roles.
  • Significant track record in proficiently developing comprehensive critical paths.
  • Significant experience creating and using 4D BIM models in a construction setting.
