FREELANCE – FULLY REMOTE INITIALLY – 6 MONTHS – OUTSIDE IR35

This established market-leading consultancy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their array of Data Centre projects.

THE COMPANY

• A well-established, award winning, global, Multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy who specialise in a range of projects including mission critical data centres, hotels, and large-scale commercial developments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

• Produce and manage mechanical engineering designs in line with client briefs, deadlines and budgets.
• The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will review designs and provide feedback.
• Be able to train and support more junior staff when necessary.
• Work under the guidance of a more experience member of staff and contribute to managements of commercial, financial, environmental aspects of projects.
• The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will attend internal and external meetings.
• Build good relationships with clients.
• Take part in the preparations of submissions.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND OF THE SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

• The senior mechanical design engineer will have a degree in mechanical engineering or building services.
• The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have recent Data Centre experience.
• Working knowledge of UK standards and experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Demonstrable ability to delegate to others, share knowledge and provide feedback.
• The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will demonstrate technical competence and experience
• Experience representing a business and participating in external and internal meetings.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
